Thamesford beats North Middlesex 10-3 as McLennan gets hat trick

Andrew McLennan netted a hat trick to lead the Thamesford Trojans over the North Middlesex Stars, 10-3.

McLennan's first goal came 3:39 into the first period. He then added goals at 3:13 into the second and at 32 seconds into the third.

North Middlesex was unable to stop Thamesford from sending pucks towards the net, and the Trojans eventually piled up 38 shots on goal. Thamesford bested its season scoring average. The Trojans average 4.8 goals per game.

Thamesford additionally got points from Brett Dyck, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Dylan Salter, who also registered two goals and one assist, and Kyle Walker, who also had two goals and three assists to lead the team in points. Alex Clemens also scored for Thamesford. Other players who recorded assists for Thamesford were Stavros Mandrapilias, who had three, Tynan Lauziere, Dylan Black, Jeremy Denomme, and Paul Grasby, who contributed one a piece, and Ben Kirwin and Mitch Davies, who each chipped in two.

The Stars' offense rang up 33 shots on Thamesford's net.

North Middlesex was helped by Brendon Vanhooydonk (APM), who racked up one goal. Vanhooydonk (APM) scored 11:18 into the first period to make the score 2-2. Greg Masschelein picked up the assist. North Middlesex also got a goal from Josh DenOtter as well. In addition, North Middlesex received assists from Spencer Kading, who had two.

Tynan Lauziere made 30 saves for the Trojans on 33 shots. Thamesford incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Ryan Swartzentruber rejected 28 shots on goal for the Stars. North Middlesex totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. The Stars ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Michael Quinn was ejected from the game.
