The Hagersville Hawks and the Wellesley Applejacks were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Hagersville made the most of its opportunities and won, 6-4. No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Derek Medeiros at 10:04 of the second period. Medeiros had one goal and two assists to lead the Hawks. Hagersville forced Wellesley's goaltenders to work all game long, finishing with 49 shots and forcing 43 saves. Corey Tuffnail made 24 stops and Josh Heer made 19. Hagersville also got points from Eric Drehmer, who also had one goal and two assists, Nick Halliday, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Mitch Green, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Kyle Phibbs also scored for Hagersville. Other players who recorded assists for Hagersville were Jesse Ross, who had two and Hayden Baird, Cole Martin, and Rob Clause, who each chipped in one. The Hawks were unable to stop the Applejacks from sending pucks towards the net, and Wellesley eventually piled up 34 shots on goal. The Applejacks were helped by Tyler Eckert, who finished with one goal and one assist. Eckert scored 2:30 into the second period to make the score 3-3. Devon Wagner provided the assist. Wellesley additionally got points from Wagner, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Wellesley also got a goal from Steven Tait as well. In addition, Wellesley received assists from Mark Detzler, Taylor Doering, Reid Denstedt, Michael Pollice, and Corey Way, who contributed one a piece. Hagersville's Matt Murphy stopped 30 shots out of the 34 that he faced. The Hawks incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Wellesley incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
