Tavistock blows out Norfolk, 8-2

The Tavistock Braves were firing on all cylinders against the Norfolk Rebels, and when the final buzzer sounded Braves emerged with an 8-2 win.

Tavistock got the win thanks to a great game by Curtis Dotzert, who had two goals and one assist. Dotzert scored the first of his two goals at 7:26 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Tavistock. Dylan Yantzi assisted on the tally. Dotzert's next tally made the score 8-2 Tavistock with 35 seconds left in the third period. Charlie Irwin provided the assist.

The Braves forced Rebels' goalies to work in net, taking 51 shots and forcing 43 saves. Jason Pachieko made 15 stops and Jason Miller made 28. Tavistock outdid its season average for goals scored. The Braves average 4.0 goals per game.

Tavistock additionally got points from Jordan Ritsma, who also grabbed two goals and one assist and Yantzi, who also had one goal and one assist. Charlie Malson also scored for Tavistock. Other players who recorded assists for Tavistock were Matthew Lupton, Nick Quehl, Mack Gingerich, Andrew Schacht, Chris Newcombe, and Jake Mock, who each chipped in one.

Norfolk was led by Steve Parker, who racked up one goal. Parker scored 12:32 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Tavistock. Kurtis Pettitt assisted on the tally. Norfolk also got a goal from Brayden Dickinson as well. More assists for Norfolk came via Clayton Charot and Michael Almas, who contributed one a piece.

Tim Parker rejected 28 shots on goal for Tavistock. The Braves incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Rebels incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
