McRobert's big game bests Norfolk in 7-0 Delhi winDelhi Community Centre Fri, Dec 14, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Norfolk Rebels had trouble finding ways to stop the Delhi Travellers, which beat Rebels, 7-0. Delhi got the win behind a great game by Harrison McRobert, who had two goals and one assist. McRobert scored the first of his two goals at 15:55 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Delhi. Derek Friesen assisted on the tally. McRobert's next tally made the score 4-0 Delhi with 12:32 left in the second period. The Travellers had gotten the advantage when Norfolk's Clayton Charot was sent off for roughing after whistle. Mike DeCoene picked up the assist. Delhi kept the Rebels' goalie busy throughout the game, and Jason Miller made 28 saves on 35 shots. The Travellers bested their season scoring average. Delhi has scored at the pace of 4.9 goals per game during the current campaign. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. Delhi also got points from Cody Stout, who also tallied two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. Kelsey Vanyermen also scored for Delhi. Other players who recorded assists for Delhi were Taylor Hockley, who had two and Brad Ward, Jordan Betzold, Rick Fergus, and Jamie Newell, who contributed one a piece. Norfolk could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 32 minutes in penalties during the game. The Travellers' Joe Drexler stopped 23 shots out of the 23 that he faced. Delhi incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. The Rebels registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
