Huge game by McLennan boosts Thamesford over Lucan, 8-4

Behind a great game by Andrew McLennan, who had two goals and three assists, the Thamesford Trojans defeated the Lucan Irish, 8-4.

McLennan scored at 7:38 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Thamesford and again while 45 seconds into the third to make the score 6-3 Thamesford.

Thamesford managed to stay out of the box better than usual, racking up one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Trojans wound up below its season average of 22.0 penalty minutes per game. Thamesford forced Lucan goalie Dylan Hoover to work between the pipes, taking 49 shots. The Trojans surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Thamesford averages 5.0 goals per game.

Thamesford additionally got points from Adam Levine, who also registered one goal and four assists and Fabio Galante, who also racked up two goals and two assists. Judson Couture also scored for Thamesford. In addition, Thamesford received assists from Dakota Hill, who had two and James Toye and Mitch Davies, who contributed one a piece.

The Irish's offense rang up 37 shots on the Trojans' net.

Lucan was helped by Mitch Smith, who had two goals. Smith scored the first of his two goals at 15:56 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Lucan. Smith's next tally made the score 6-4 Thamesford with 16:00 left in the third period. Cam Bond picked up the assist. Lucan also got points from Bond, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Lucan also got a goal from Dylan Murray as well. More assists for Lucan came via Cullen Harper, who had two and Nick Moniz, Riley Orchard, and Matt Curtis, who each chipped in one.

James Champagne rejected 33 shots on goal for Thamesford. The Trojans registered one goal on two power play opportunities. Hoover recorded 41 saves for the Irish. Lucan incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. For the Irish, Murray was ejected from the game.
