Delhi's Hockley deadly on offense in 7-3 win against Norfolk

Taylor Hockley had two goals to lead the Delhi Travellers to a 7-3 victory over the Norfolk Rebels.

Hockley found the back of the net 18:24 into the first period to make the score 2-2 and again while on the power play 13:43 into the second to make the score 3-2 Delhi.

Delhi made Rebels' goaltenders to work between the pipes, finishing with 62 shots and forcing 55 saves. Jason Miller made 46 stops and Alex Tipping made nine.

Delhi also got points from Kelsey Vanyermen, who also racked up two goals and one assist, Cody Stout, who also had one goal and two assists, and Mike DeCoene, who also registered two goals and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Delhi were Brad Ward, Derek Friesen, Jamie Newell, and Colin VanDale, who each chipped in one and Harrison McRobert and Jordan Betzold, who contributed two a piece.

Norfolk kept the Travellers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Joe Drexler made 40 saves on 43 shots. The Rebels could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 28 minutes in penalties during the game.

Norfolk was led by Chris Murray, who finished with one goal and one assist. Murray scored 1:07 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Norfolk. Kurtis Pettitt assisted on the tally. Norfolk additionally got points from Pettitt, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Norfolk also got a goal from Nate Parker as well. More assists for Norfolk came via Joshua Slegers, who had two.

Delhi incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Rebels registered one goal on three power play opportunities. For Norfolk, Drew Moore was ejected from the game.
