Huge game by Kettler boosts Alvinston over North Middlesex, 10-3

Alvinston's Tyler Kettler had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing four assists in his team's 10-3 win over the North Middlesex Stars.

Kettler found the back of the net 7:05 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Alvinston and again while 24 seconds into the second to make the score 4-1 Alvinston.

Alvinston forced Stars' goaltenders to work in net, taking 38 shots and forcing 28 saves. Alex Foster made 15 stops and Ryan Swartzentruber made 13. Alvinston got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Alvinston additionally got points from Cody Perriam, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Kole Keating, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Chad Vaneyk, who also had one goal and three assists. Others who scored for Alvinston included Dylan Lightfoot, who had one and Karsten Berg and Ryan Fraser, who each put in two. In addition, Alvinston received assists from Clint Rose, who had two and Matt Laberge and Dawson Elviage, who each chipped in one.

North Middlesex was helped by Cody Wuytenburg, who grabbed one goal. Wuytenburg scored on the power play 9:16 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Alvinston. The Stars had gotten the advantage when Alvinston's Kyle Cutler was sent off for slashing. Mike Sharpe provided the assist. North Middlesex also got points from Tommy Prokes, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Jake Alkins also scored for North Middlesex. More assists for North Middlesex came via Zak MacNaught and Jeremy Vandeven, who contributed one a piece.

Alvinston's Brad Jacklin stopped 17 shots out of the 20 that he faced. Alvinston incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. North Middlesex incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
