O Shaughnessy leads Dorchester over Thamesford, 7-3

Brendon O Shaughnessy had two goals and one assist to lead the Dorchester Dolphins to a 7-3 victory over the Thamesford Trojans.

O Shaughnessy's tallies came at 5:27 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Dorchester and on the power play 6:17 into the second to make the score 4-3 Dorchester.

Thamesford's power play was ineffective against Dorchester's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

The Trojans were unable to stop the Dolphins from sending pucks towards the net, and Dorchester eventually piled up 33 shots on goal. The Dolphins outdid their season average for goals scored. This season, Dorchester averages 4.4 goals per contest. The Dolphins were ineffective while on the power play, as they were held to two goals off of nine man advantages.

Dorchester additionally got points from Shayne Rhyno, who also grabbed one goal and three assists to lead the team in points and Liam Gillooly, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Dorchester included Jacob Baribeau, who had one and Connor McKay, who had two. In addition, Dorchester received assists from Connor Lovell, who had three and Tyler Blue and Tyler Vere, who each chipped in one.

Thamesford was helped by Kyle Walker, who tallied one goal. Walker scored on the power play 1:20 into the second period to make the score 3-3. The Trojans earned a power play opportunity when McKay was put in the box for leaving players bench. Judson Couture assisted on the tally. James Toye also scored for Thamesford. Other players who recorded assists for Thamesford were Beau Diloreto, Alex Clemens, Dylan Salter, Brent Kipfer, and Mitch Davies, who contributed one a piece.

Alex Hutcheson rejected 20 shots on goal for Dorchester. The Dolphins incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with 11 minors. James Champagne recorded 26 saves for Thamesford. The Trojans incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
