Hagersville blows out Norfolk, 10-3

The Hagersville Hawks were firing on all cylinders against the Norfolk Rebels, and when the final buzzer sounded Hawks emerged with a 10-3 win.

Kyle Parsons had one goal and two assists to lead Hagersville. Parsons scored 9:03 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Hagersville. Hayden Baird picked up the assist.

Norfolk was unable to stop the Hawks from sending pucks towards the net, and Hagersville eventually piled up 55 shots on goal. The Hawks found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, Hagersville averages 5.3 goals per contest. The Hawks were ineffective while on the power play, as they were held to one goal off of 10 man advantages.

Hagersville also got points from Eric Drehmer, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Brad Hornby, who also had two goals and one assist, Baird, who also racked up one goal and two assists, Derek Medeiros, who also registered two goals and one assist, and Kyle Sault, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Jacob Erwin also scored for Hagersville. In addition, Hagersville received assists from Jacob Brown, who had two, Nick Halliday, who had three, and Jesse Ross and Rob Clause, who contributed one a piece.

The Rebels kept Hagersville's goalie busy throughout the game, and Justin Paccheco made 38 saves on 41 shots. Norfolk's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Rebels finished with 34 penalty minutes.

Norfolk was helped by Kent Wardell, who had one goal and one assist. Wardell scored on the power play 3:20 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Hagersville. The Rebels had taken the advantage when the Hawks' Clause got sent off for slashing. Dylan Heaslip provided the assist. Norfolk also got a goal from Ryan Oatway as well. More assists for Norfolk came via Michael Almas, who had one.

Hagersville ended with 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major. The Hawks ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Clause was ejected from the game. Norfolk's Jason Miller stopped 45 shots out of the 55 that he faced. The Rebels registered three goals on nine power play opportunities.
