Lambeth downs Port Stanley in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

The Lambeth Lancers pulled out a 5-4 (OT) overtime victory over the Port Stanley Sailors on a clutch goal by Justin Clark.

Lambeth came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Lancers fell behind 3-1 after a goal by Port Stanley's Josh Tremblay at 17:57 in the first period. Lambeth knotted things up at 4-4 on a goal by Cleo Gubbels at 9:09 in the third period.

The Lancers were sparked by Clark, who grabbed one goal. Clark scored 3:05 into overtime to make the score 5-4 Lambeth. Gubbels picked up the assist.

Lambeth excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Sailors were unable to stop the Lancers from sending pucks towards the net, and Lambeth eventually piled up 42 shots on goal.

Lambeth additionally got points from Ryan Pennington, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Gubbels, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Lambeth also got a goal from Nick West as well. Other players who recorded assists for Lambeth were Carter Allen, Kale Corbeth, Mike Golinowski, Dale Morningstar, Warren Hargraves, and Conor Chilvers, who contributed one a piece.

Port Stanley forced the Lancers goalie JP Trudell to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots.

Port Stanley also got points from Luke McGuire, who also had one goal and one assist and Tyler Beaulieu, who also tallied one goal and one assist. More assists for Port Stanley came via Dan Gordon, who had two and Derek Finlay, Trevor Smith, and Findley Brandon, who each chipped in one.

Trudell rejected 37 shots on goal for Lambeth. The Lancers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Brandon Garner made 37 saves for the Sailors on 42 shots. Port Stanley incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
