Mt.Brydges survives Thamesford comeback, wins 6-5

The Mt.Brydges Bulldogs survived a determined comeback attempt by the Thamesford Trojans on the way to a 6-5 win.

A goal by Jeremy Denomme put Mt.Brydges up 6-2 in the third period, but Thamesford pulled to within one on Dylan Salter's tally 18:52 into the third period.

The Bulldogs made the Trojans' goalies to work all game long, launching 38 shots and forcing 32 saves. James Champagne made six stops and Grayson Templeman made 26. Mt.Brydges bested its season scoring average. The Bulldogs average 3.2 goals per game.

Mt.Brydges was led by Mike Frizzell, who had three goals and two assists. Mt.Brydges also got points from Sean Candler, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Denomme, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. Connor Dunn also scored for Mt.Brydges. Other players who recorded assists for Mt.Brydges were David Wade, who had one and Spencer Wilson, Brady Doxtator (APM), and Hayden Trbizan, who each chipped in two.

The Bulldogs were unable to stop Thamesford from sending pucks towards the net, and the Trojans eventually piled up 37 shots on goal. Team could not crack Mt.Brydges' penalty kill and was held to two power play goals while having 10 opportunities to play with the man advantage.

Thamesford was led by Kyle Walker, who registered one goal and three assists. Walker scored 16:36 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Mt.Brydges. Adam Levine provided the assist. Thamesford additionally got points from Levine, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Thamesford also got a goal from Cody DiDomenico as well. More assists for Thamesford came via James Toye, Dylan Black, Kyle Davis, and Brandyn Di Domenico, who contributed one a piece.

Eric Steinman recorded 32 saves for the Bulldogs. Mt.Brydges incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. The Bulldogs ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Grant Johns was ejected from the game. The Trojans incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
