Ross' big game bests Delhi in 5-2 Hagersville win

Behind a great game by Jesse Ross, who had one goal and two assists, the Hagersville Hawks defeated the Delhi Travellers, 5-2.

Ross beat Nick Heath with a shot 17:50 into the first period to make the score 3-0 Hagersville. Derek Medeiros provided the assist. Ross dished an assist on Nick Halliday's goal that made the score 1-0 Hagersville at 1:39 into the first period. He added another helper on Medeiros' goal that made the score 5-2 Hagersville at 18:27 into the third period.

Delhi's power play was ineffective against Hagersville's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

The Hawks' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on eight Delhi power plays.

Hagersville also got points from Halliday, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Hayden Baird, who also had one goal and one assist, Rob Clause, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Medeiros, who also tallied one goal and two assists to lead the team in points.

The Travellers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Delhi could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Travellers put an average of 5.7 pucks into the net per game.

Delhi was led by Jeremy Jacobs, who grabbed one goal. Jacobs scored 15:49 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Hagersville. Travis Harper assisted on the tally. Delhi also got a goal from Derek Friesen as well.

Justin Paccheco rejected 28 shots on goal for Hagersville. The Hawks incurred 28 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. Heath recorded 24 saves for the Travellers. Delhi incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Team's Harrison McRobert and Cody Stout were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
