Dorchester rolls over Exeter, 4-1

The Dorchester Dolphins were firing on all cylinders against the Exeter Hawks, and when the final buzzer sounded Dolphins emerged with a 4-1 win.

Dorchester was sparked by Liam Gillooly, who finished with one goal. Gillooly scored 8:17 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Dorchester. Brendon O Shaughnessy picked up the assist.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 6:14 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

The Dolphins stifled Exeter's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Hawks were unable to stop Dorchester from sending pucks towards the net, and the Dolphins eventually piled up 34 shots on goal.

Dorchester also got points from Chris Buckholz, who also registered one goal and one assist and O Shaughnessy, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Dorchester also got a goal from Jacob Baribeau as well. In addition, Dorchester received assists from Shayne Rhyno, who had two and Connor McKay and Jesiah Sweetland, who contributed one a piece.

Exeter's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on nine Dorchester power plays. The Hawks' offense operated below they season average. Exeter averages 3.3 goals per game. The Hawks were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 33 penalty minutes.

Dorchester's Jake Fonti stopped 24 shots out of the 25 that he faced. The Dolphins ended with 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major. Dorchester ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Patrick Freel was ejected from the game. Paul Orlando made 30 saves for Exeter on 34 shots. The Hawks registered zero goals on five power play opportunities. For Exeter, John Kingma was ejected from the game.
