Lambeth downs Dorchester in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

Mitch Furlonger gave the Lambeth Lancers a 3-2 (OT) victory over the Dorchester Dolphins when he scored 2:32 into the extra period.

Lambeth nearly gave up a two-score lead. The Lancers made the score 2-0 on a goal by Warren Hargraves at 6:54 in the second period. Dorchester pulled to within 2-1 on a goal by Chad Brulotte at 2:29 in the third period.

Furlonger had a great game for Lambeth, netting two goals.

The Lancers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Lambeth was held below its usual level of production. The Lancers put an average of 5.5 pucks into the net per game. Lambeth forced the Dolphins goalie Jake Fonti to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots.

Other players who recorded assists for Lambeth were Rob Ruggiero, who had two and Brandon Robbins and Mike Golinowski, who each chipped in one.

Dorchester stifled the Lancers' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Dolphins kept Lambeth's goalie busy throughout the game, and JP Trudell made 33 saves on 35 shots.

Dorchester also got a goal from Patrick Freel as well. In addition, Dorchester received assists from Matt Johnson and Matt Cormier, who contributed one a piece.

The Lancers totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 0-for-6 on the power play. Lambeth ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Kyle Huston was ejected from the game. Fonti rejected 30 shots on goal for Dorchester. The Dolphins ended with 19 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major. For Dorchester, Shayne Rhyno was ejected from the game.
