Lambeth beats Exeter 8-0 as Trudell gains shutout

JP Trudell was superb between the pipes for the Lambeth Lancers, as he did not allow a goal in an 8-0 victory over the Exeter Hawks.

Exeter's power play was ineffective against Lambeth's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

The Lancers forced Hawks' netminders to work all game long, totaling 50 shots and forcing 42 saves. Jake Partridge made 29 stops and Bryan Paolotto made 13. Lambeth put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Hawks to score on any of their seven power plays.

The Lancers were helped by Warren Hargraves, who racked up one goal. Hargraves scored short handed 1:58 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Lambeth. Lambeth found itself down a man on Derek Courtney's warm up violation. Josh Bumpus assisted on the tally. Lambeth additionally got points from Tanner Smith, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Dale Morningstar, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Lambeth also had goals scored by Conor Chilvers, who had one and Mitch Thomas and Cleo Gubbels, who each put in two. More assists for Lambeth came via Rob Ruggiero, who had three and Kale Corbeth and Mitch Furlonger, who each chipped in one.

Exeter could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 40 minutes in penalties during the game.

Trudell rejected 25 shots on goal for the Lancers. Lambeth incurred 50 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors.
