Dorchester outlasts Lucan, 6-5

The Dorchester Dolphins and the Lucan Irish were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Dorchester made the most of its opportunities and won, 6-5.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Jacob Baribeau at 18:06 of the third period.

The Dolphins was paced on offense by Brendon O Shaughnessy and Baribeau, who combined for five points. O Shaughnessy finished with two goals and one assist and Baribeau also notched one goal and one assist.

Lucan was unable to stop Dorchester from sending pucks towards the net, and the Dolphins eventually piled up 43 shots on goal.

Dorchester additionally got points from Shayne Rhyno, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Baribeau, who also had one goal and one assist. Patrick Freel also scored for Dorchester. Other players who recorded assists for Dorchester were Cam McLean, who had one, Matt Cormier, who had two, and Liam Gillooly, who had three.

The Irish forced Dorchester goalie Alex Hutcheson to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots.

Lucan was led by Colin Nancekivell, who racked up two goals. Nancekivell scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 7:41 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Dorchester. The Irish earned a power play opportunity when Freel was put in the box for hooking. Dylan Murray provided the assist. Nancekivell's next tally on the power play made the score 5-5 with 11:37 left in the third period. Lucan also got points from Mitch Smith, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Lucan also got a goal from Matt Curtis as well.

Hutcheson recorded 31 saves for the Dolphins. Dorchester totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play. The Dolphins ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Rhyno was ejected from the game. Lucan's Dylan Hoover stopped 37 shots out of the 43 that he faced. The Irish totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 2-for-4 on the power play. Team's Cullen Harper and Derek Crossman were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
