Tampa Juniors holds on for 5-3 win against Palm Beach Hawks

Palm Beach Hawks tried its best to erase a four-goal deficit, but Tampa Juniors would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 5-3.

A goal by Walter Stern put Tampa Juniors up 5-1 in the third period, but Palm Beach Hawks pulled to within two on Anthony Campanella's tally 8:53 into the third period.

Tommy Whiteley was all over the ice for Tampa Juniors, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Whiteley scored the first of his two goals at 17:04 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Jared Goudreau picked up the assist. Whiteley's next tally made the score 2-1 Tampa Juniors with 18:11 left in the second period. Goudreau assisted on the tally.

Tampa Juniors' offense rang up 32 shots on Palm Beach Hawks' net. The defensemen of Tampa Juniors were also effective in Palm Beach Hawks' zone, and came away with two goals.

Tampa Juniors also got a goal from Ryan Menard as well. In addition, Tampa Juniors received assists from Logan Garst, who had two and Connor Esrick, Scott Lemire, and Christopher Bohlin, who each chipped in one.

Palm Beach Hawks also got points from Jake Simons, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Joe Duoba also scored for Palm Beach Hawks. Other players who recorded assists for Palm Beach Hawks were CJ Hoy, who had two and Kevin Mansolill and Dan Fuller, who contributed one a piece.

Tampa Juniors' Nicholas Malvin stopped 21 shots out of the 24 that he faced. Tampa Juniors incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Shayne Dietl recorded 27 saves for Palm Beach Hawks. Palm Beach Hawks incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
