Huge game by Snyder boosts Hampton Roads Whalers over Potomac Patriots, 5-2

Hampton Roads Whalers' Cameron Snyder had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing three assists in his team's 5-2 win over Potomac Patriots.

Snyder found the back of the net 3:01 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Potomac Patriots and again while 19:59 into the third to make the score 5-2 Hampton Roads Whalers.

Hampton Roads Whalers' penalty kill excelled, as Hampton Roads Whalers gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

Hampton Roads Whalers made Potomac Patriots' netminders to work all game long, racking up 45 shots and forcing 40 saves. Garrett Forrest made 27 stops and Dustyn Moyer made 13. Hampton Roads Whalers was hit hard by penalties in the contest, and totaled seven minors and one major for 29 minutes in penalty time.

Ioan Florea also scored for Hampton Roads Whalers. In addition, Hampton Roads Whalers received assists from Cody Pessig, who had one and Dylan Woods and Alexander Brissette, who contributed two a piece.

Potomac Patriots' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on eight Hampton Roads Whalers power plays.

Potomac Patriots was helped by Alexander Grose, who finished with one goal. Grose scored 2:37 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Potomac Patriots. Sean Gregory picked up the assist. Potomac Patriots also got a goal from Nathan Marks as well. Other players who recorded assists for Potomac Patriots were Carter Schultz, Kevin McDonald, and Temur Hannan, who each chipped in one.

Brett Kilar rejected 23 shots on goal for Hampton Roads Whalers. For Hampton Roads Whalers, Pessig was ejected from the game. Potomac Patriots incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors.
