Tampa Juniors vanquishes Palm Beach Hawks in shootout, 4-3 (1-0 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Tampa Juniors defeated Palm Beach Hawks in a shootout 4-3 (1-0 SO).

The shootout featured six attempts between both teams.

Tampa Juniors pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 18 penalty minutes.

Tampa Juniors was led by Logan Garst, who registered one goal. Garst scored 16:51 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Tampa Juniors. Tommy Whiteley provided the assist.

Tampa Juniors' offense rang up 37 shots on Palm Beach Hawks' net.

Joona Huunanmaa also scored for Tampa Juniors. More assists for Tampa Juniors came via Connor Esrick, Michael Peletier, Paul Lochner, Chase Anderson, and Jared Goudreau, who contributed one a piece.

Palm Beach Hawks put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Tampa Juniors to score on any of its seven power plays. Palm Beach Hawks forced Tampa Juniors goalie Jared Stearns to work between the pipes, taking 58 shots. Palm Beach Hawks could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 18 minutes in penalties during the game.

Palm Beach Hawks was led by Axel Dressell, who tallied two goals. Dressell scored the first of his two goals at 18:14 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Tampa Juniors. John Smith picked up the assist. Dressell's next tally made the score 3-3 with 13:45 left in the third period. Cullen McMahon assisted on the tally. Palm Beach Hawks also got a goal from Kevin Mansolill as well. In addition, Palm Beach Hawks received assists from Brandon Desrosiers, Jake Simons, and Dennis Allingmon, who each chipped in one.

Stearns rejected 55 shots on goal for Tampa Juniors. Tommy Cruz recorded 33 saves for Palm Beach Hawks. Palm Beach Hawks registered one goal on nine power play opportunities.
