Huge game by Mudge boosts Florida Eels over Palm Beach Hawks, 12-4

Florida Eels' Zachery Mudge had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing four assists in his team's 12-4 win over Palm Beach Hawks.

Mudge scored 15:57 into the second period to make the score 5-3 Florida Eels. Mudge dished an assist on Tom Doverhjelm's goal that made the score 1-1 at 10:47 into the first period. He then added assists on Doverhjelm's goal at 16:07 into the second, on Doverhjelm's goal at 2:16 into the third, and on Doverhjelm's goal at 7:02 into the third.

Florida Eels pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 30 penalty minutes.

Florida Eels made Palm Beach Hawks' goaltenders to work without much rest, taking 60 shots and forcing 48 saves. Shayne Dietl made 39 stops and Jacob Bloomfield made nine. Florida Eels found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, Florida Eels averages 3.5 goals per contest.

Florida Eels also got points from Steven Prince, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Samuel Stone, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Arnaldo Osuna, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Sean McGowan, who also tallied one goal and two assists. Adrian Bragg also scored for Florida Eels. Other players who recorded assists for Florida Eels were Joey Colatarci, who had one, Fredrik Wink, who had four, and Vasili Malliaras, Daniel Filler, and Brien Thompson, who contributed two a piece.

Palm Beach Hawks forced Florida Eels goalie Hunter Fernandez to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots. Palm Beach Hawks was held back by its power play unit, which tallied one goal on nine chances. Palm Beach Hawks could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 34 minutes in penalties during the game.

Palm Beach Hawks was led by Nick Aleva, who finished with two goals. Aleva scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 16:21 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Palm Beach Hawks. Palm Beach Hawks had taken the advantage when Florida Eels' Osuna got sent off for slashing. Jake Simons picked up the assist. Aleva's next tally on the power play made the score 3-3 with 15:08 left in the second period. Matthew Gross provided the assist. Palm Beach Hawks also got a goal from Brandon Desrosiers as well. More assists for Palm Beach Hawks came via Matt Geib, who had one and CJ Hoy, who had two.

Hunter Fernandez made 30 saves for Florida Eels on 34 shots. Florida Eels registered four goals on 11 power play opportunities.
