Space Coast Hurricanes downs Palm Beach Hawks in overtime, 6-5 (OT)

Space Coast Hurricanes' Jack Musil scored 2:29 into overtime to beat Palm Beach Hawks, 6-5 (OT).

Space Coast Hurricanes came back from a three-goal deficit to capture the victory. Space Coast Hurricanes fell behind 4-1 after a power play goal by Palm Beach Hawks' Matthew Gross at 18:16 in the second period. Space Coast Hurricanes knotted things up at 5-5 on a goal by Griffin Rogers at 18:59 in the third period.

Clay Plyler had two goals and one assist to lead Space Coast Hurricanes. Plyler scored the first of his two goals at 9:52 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Palm Beach Hawks. Plyler's next tally made the score 4-4 with 7:14 left in the third period. Keegan Finn picked up the assist.

Space Coast Hurricanes kept Palm Beach Hawks' goalie busy throughout the game, and Shayne Dietl made 34 saves on 40 shots. Space Coast Hurricanes bested its season scoring average. Space Coast Hurricanes averages 3.3 goals per game.

Space Coast Hurricanes also got points from Crissostomos Villarreal, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Musil, who also registered one goal and two assists. Space Coast Hurricanes also got a goal from Jamie Chilcott as well. Other players who recorded assists for Space Coast Hurricanes were Johnny Murray, Brian Hurley, Andrew Bathgate, and Sean Zingler, who each chipped in one.

Palm Beach Hawks put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Space Coast Hurricanes to score on any of its six power plays. Space Coast Hurricanes was unable to stop Palm Beach Hawks from sending pucks towards the net, and Palm Beach Hawks eventually piled up 53 shots on goal. Palm Beach Hawks' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Palm Beach Hawks was led by Jake Simons, who tallied one goal and two assists. Simons scored 12:23 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Palm Beach Hawks. Palm Beach Hawks additionally got points from AJ Fasick, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Justin Anderson also scored for Palm Beach Hawks.
