Fernandez stymies Palm Beach Hawks, Florida Eels wins 4-1

Florida Eels relied on the sparkling performance of Hunter Fernandez in net to grab a 4-1 win against Palm Beach Hawks.

Florida Eels' penalty kill excelled, as Florida Eels gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

Florida Eels was sparked by Tom Doverhjelm, who finished with one goal. Doverhjelm scored on the power play 10:52 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Florida Eels. Florida Eels had gotten the advantage when Palm Beach Hawks' CJ Hoy was sent off for interference. Xavier Carrillo provided the assist.

Florida Eels stifled Palm Beach Hawks' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Florida Eels kept Palm Beach Hawks' goalie busy throughout the game, and Tommy Cruz made 53 saves on 57 shots.

Florida Eels also got points from Steven Prince, who also tallied two goals and one assist to lead the team in points and Zachery Mudge, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Florida Eels were Fredrik Wink, who had two and Vasili Malliaras, Jeffery Brannon, and Brien Thompson, who contributed one a piece.

Palm Beach Hawks forced Florida Eels goalie Fernandez to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots.

Palm Beach Hawks was led by Kevin Mansolill, who scored the team's only goal. Mansolill scored 13:03 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Palm Beach Hawks.

Fernandez recorded 32 saves for Florida Eels. Florida Eels incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Palm Beach Hawks ended with 41 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major. For Palm Beach Hawks, Coach was ejected from the game.
