Florida Eels penalty kill dominates in 3-1 defeat of Palm Beach Hawks

Despite having to fight off several power plays, Florida Eels was able to defeat Palm Beach Hawks, 3-1.

Florida Eels was led by Zachery Mudge, who racked up one goal and one assist. Mudge scored 7:17 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Florida Eels. Joey Colatarci picked up the assist.

The Florida Eels penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled eight minors and one major for 21 minutes in penalty time. Florida Eels surpassed its season average of 11.0 penalty minutes per game. Florida Eels put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Palm Beach Hawks to score on any of its seven power plays. Palm Beach Hawks was unable to stop Florida Eels from sending pucks towards the net, and Florida Eels eventually piled up 36 shots on goal.

Florida Eels additionally got points from Brien Thompson, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Sean McGowan also scored for Florida Eels. In addition, Florida Eels received assists from Kenan Ural, Tom Doverhjelm, and Arnaldo Osuna, who contributed one a piece.

Palm Beach Hawks could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 30 minutes in penalties during the game.
