Kilar stymies East Coast Eagles, Hampton Roads Whalers wins 2-1

Hampton Roads Whalers relied on the sparkling performance of Brett Kilar in net to grab a 2-1 win against East Coast Eagles.

Hampton Roads Whalers pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 18 penalty minutes.

Hampton Roads Whalers was paced by William Naber, who had one goal. Naber scored 18:54 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Hampton Roads Whalers. Matthew Zendejas picked up the assist.

Hampton Roads Whalers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. East Coast Eagles was unable to stop Hampton Roads Whalers from sending pucks towards the net, and Hampton Roads Whalers eventually piled up 32 shots on goal.

Hampton Roads Whalers also got a goal from Cameron Snyder as well. Other players who recorded assists for Hampton Roads Whalers were Alexander Brissette, who had one.

East Coast Eagles' offense rang up 41 shots on Hampton Roads Whalers' net. East Coast Eagles struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 16 penalty minutes for five opposing power plays.

East Coast Eagles was led by Jonathan Haun, who scored the team's only goal. Haun scored 2:24 into the third period to make the score 1-1. Richard Hudzik assisted on the tally.

Kilar recorded 40 saves for Hampton Roads Whalers. East Coast Eagles' Bryan Canter stopped 30 shots out of the 32 that he faced.
