Moyer stymies Florida Eels, Potomac Patriots wins 3-1

Dustyn Moyer stood on his head and made 31 saves to lead Potomac Patriots to a 3-1 victory over Florida Eels.

Florida Eels' power play was ineffective against Potomac Patriots' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

Potomac Patriots was paced by Nathan Marks, who finished with one goal. Marks scored 12:30 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Potomac Patriots. Andrew Turgeon provided the assist.

Potomac Patriots found itself short handed often, totaling 18 penalty minutes and allowing nine power plays.

Matthew Wipper also scored for Potomac Patriots. Other players who recorded assists for Potomac Patriots were Cameron Smith, Joseph Pouliot, and Temur Hannan, who each chipped in one.

Florida Eels excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Potomac Patriots was unable to stop Florida Eels from sending pucks towards the net, and Florida Eels eventually piled up 32 shots on goal.

Florida Eels was led by Fredrik Wink, who scored the team's only goal. Wink scored on the power play 13:23 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Florida Eels. Florida Eels had gotten the advantage when Potomac Patriots' Kevin McDonald was sent off for interference. Tom Doverhjelm assisted on the tally.

Hunter Fernandez recorded 13 saves for Florida Eels. Florida Eels incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
