A stellar performance between the pipes by Brad Pope helped the St. Catharines Falcons defeat the Brantford Golden Eagles, 2-1. After the loss made the series score 3-2 in the best of seven series, Brantford faces elimination next time out. St. Catharines was led by Johnson Andrews, who finished with one goal. Andrews scored 18:20 into the third period to make the score 2-1 St. Catharines. Koddi Quick provided the assist. The Falcons put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Golden Eagles to score on any of their four power plays. Spencer DeWolfe also scored for St. Catharines. In addition, St. Catharines received assists from Broderick Kelly and Ben Dubois, who contributed one a piece. Brantford stifled St. Catharines' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Falcons were unable to stop the Golden Eagles from sending pucks towards the net, and Brantford eventually piled up 34 shots on goal. The Golden Eagles were led by Brendan Quigg, who scored the team's only goal. Quigg scored 13:04 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Ryan Blunt assisted on the tally. St. Catharines' Pope stopped 33 shots out of the 34 that he faced. The Falcons incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Bryce O Hagan recorded 23 saves for Brantford. The Golden Eagles incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
