Huge game by Swift boosts Brantford over St. Catharines, 4-1Jack Gatecliff Rink Sat, Apr 28, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
Jeff Swift was all over the ice for the Brantford Golden Eagles, as he tallied two goals and one assist in Brantford's 4-1 win over the St. Catharines Falcons. Swift found the back of the net short handed 18:01 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Brantford and again while 5:16 into the third to make the score 2-1 Brantford.The win gave the Golden Eagles a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series. Brantford's offense rang up 36 shots on St. Catharines' net. Brantford also got a goal from Matt Prinsen as well. Other players who recorded assists for Brantford were Ryan Blunt, Paul Gallucci, Matt Quilty, and Mike Rebry, who each chipped in one. The Falcons were led by Andy Sturtz, who scored the team's only goal. Sturtz scored on the power play 18:57 into the first period to make the score 1-1. St. Catharines had gained a power play chance when Gallucci was whistled for tripping. Kyle Woodhouse picked up the assist. Bryce O Hagan rejected 21 shots on goal for the Golden Eagles. Brantford incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Brad Pope recorded 32 saves for the Falcons. St. Catharines incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. For the Falcons, Aaron Taylor was ejected from the game.
