In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Brantford Golden Eagles escaped with a 3-2 victory over the London Nationals. Neither team gained more than a one-goal lead, and Dave Lazurus' goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker. Mike Rebry was all over the ice for Brantford, as he registered two goals in the win. Rebry's tallies came at 8:27 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Brantford and on the power play 5:03 into the third to make the score 2-2. The Golden Eagles pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 24 penalty minutes. Brantford stifled London's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Golden Eagles forced the Nationals goalie Taylor Edwards to work between the pipes, taking 49 shots. More assists for Brantford came via Eric Jackson, Trent Hawke, and Matt Quilty, who each chipped in one. London kept Brantford's goalie busy throughout the game, and Bryce O Hagan made 31 saves on 33 shots. The Nationals were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 24 penalty minutes. London was helped by Paul Hopkins, who had one goal. Hopkins scored 15:58 into the second period to make the score 2-1 London. London also got a goal from Spencer Watson as well. In addition, London received assists from Thomas Menechella, who had one. The Golden Eagles registered one goal on seven power play opportunities. Brantford ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Jeff Swift was ejected from the game. Taylor Edwards made 46 saves for the Nationals on 49 shots. London registered zero goals on seven power play opportunities. For the Nationals, Menechella was ejected from the game.
