HC Gherdeina survives AS Hockey Pergine comeback, wins 2-1

AS Hockey Pergine tried its best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the HC Gherdeina Furie would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 2-1.

HC Gherdeina took a 2-0 lead during the second period, only to have AS Hockey Pergine storm back on a Davide Mantovani goal 2:06 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

The Furie's Florian Grossgasteiger was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 26 saves and let only one puck past him. The solid play of Grossgasteiger will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.84.

HC Gherdeina was led by Kevin Senoner, who grabbed one goal.

The Furie could not produce up to they normal offensive output. HC Gherdeina averages 4.3 goals per game.

HC Gherdeina also got points from James Schaafsma, who also tallied one goal and one assist. In addition, HC Gherdeina received assists from Patrick Wallenberg, who had one and Derek Eastman, who had two.

Other players who recorded assists for AS Hockey Pergine were Lino De Toni and Troy Barnes, who each chipped in one.
