Caledonia falls apart in second, loses to Glanbrook, 6-2

The Caledonia Corvairs was within striking distance after one period, but the Glanbrook Rangers put the pedal down in the second en route to a 6-2 victory.

The win by Glanbrook clinched the best of seven series at 4-1.

The Rangers were sparked by Jordan Thomas, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Thomas scored 2:13 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Glanbrook. Matt Susi provided the assist.

Glanbrook kept Caledonia's goalie busy throughout the game, and J.D Shaw made 41 saves on 47 shots.

Others who scored for Glanbrook included Drew Jedrzejewicz, who had two and Jake Hill, Kevin Matthews, and David Ferritto, who each put in one. In addition, Glanbrook received assists from Jeremy Malott, who had three and Shawn Stringer, Curtis Edwards, Nicolas Kuiper, Anthony Sanelli, and Matt Sagrott, who contributed one a piece.

The Corvairs were led by Jaccob DeNobriga, who tallied one goal. DeNobriga scored short handed 17:37 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Glanbrook. Caledonia was on a disadvantage when Gregory Christmas went off the ice for cross checking. Caledonia also got a goal from Brier Jonathan as well. Other players who recorded assists for Caledonia were Riley Arnel and Jordan McCarl, who each chipped in one.

Matt Sagrott made 18 saves for the Rangers on 20 shots. Glanbrook incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Corvairs incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
