Urban Rec is no longer operating the Urban Rec Hockey League out of the Surrey Sport and Leisure Complex.
Please see below for information about the CARHA that is taking over the league from Urban Rec.
As you may have heard, CARHA Hockey will be supporting the Surrey Sport and Leisure Centre’s adult rec hockey league (formerly the Urban Recreation Hockey League) for the 2012/13 season. Under the name the Broken Stick Hockey League, we are looking for 28 adult rec hockey teams to fill 3 divisions, a 19+ Open, a 35+, and either a 50+ or Women's, depending on demand!
Some highlights of the season are:
1.Competitive Scheduling: You will play one exhibition game to start off the year, and then move into a 24-game season schedule. The playoffs will reward the top teams in each division with a bye. The remaining teams will begin the single elimination divisional playoffs!
2.League Website – www.bshockey.ca – launching July 10th
3.Online/Mobile Stat Tracking and Schedule: Available online or on any mobile device, you can check out how your team is doing in the standings, check to see who is leading your team in points, find out when your next game, etc. all via the Broken Stick Hockey League website (launching July 10th)!
4.Divisional Championship and Finalist Prizes for all players
5.Divisional Trophies for Championship Teams
6.$10 million liability insurance and sport accident coverage for each player
