The Squeeze End The 2025 Season With a 5-2 Win Over The Di...
Date: Jul 19, 2025
Winter Park – The Winter Park Diamond Dawgs and Winter Garden Squeeze mutually agreed to go final after the Squeeze were leading the Friday night contest 11-1 in the top of the fifth inning after a second lightning delay took both teams off the field. The Diamond Dawgs are now 7-27 on the season with just one game remaining.
Regardless, the Squeeze took it to the Diamond Dawgs in the game. Winter Garden put up four runs in the first inning thanks to Isaac Incinelli's three-run home run. They would not stop there either, recording ten hits in just the four full innings of play.
The Florida League season has just one game remaining, and both Winter Park and Winter Garden’s spots in the league are already sealed.
The Diamond Dawgs picked up their lone run on an RBI single by Ben Barrow (James Madison) in the bottom of the fourth. After the first lightning delay, it was 6-0 in favor of the Squeeze, but they were not hindered by the delay at all, putting up six runs in the fourth inning to take the commanding 11-0 lead.
Andrew Furey was the winning pitcher of record after throwing three solid innings, giving up no runs and just two hits.
The two will face off in a rubber match on Saturday evening to finish off the Florida League regular season. The game will take place at Alfond Stadium at 6:00 p.m. EST.
