HAMILTON JOES 6 FLAG CITY SLUGGERS 2 - FINAL
FOUNDATION FIELD - The Hamilton Joes defeated Flag City Sluggers 6-2 in the resumption of a suspended game from the day before in Findlay.
The regularly scheduled game was rained out with the sluggers leading 6-1 in the top of the second innings. That game will not be made up since its the final game of the season series with no makeup dates available at this time.
The suspended game was picked up in the beginning of the top of the fifth inning with the Joes batting and leading 3-1.
Hamilton loaded the bases when play resumed at Foundation Field. Brett Denby (Wright State) singled to left field driving in both Jackson Wang (Wabash Valley College) and Jaxson Christ (Lake Erie College).
The Joes scored again making it a 6-1 after loaded the bases in the seventh inning. Mark Nowak beat out what appeared to be an infield single that was scored a error allowing Christ to score from third base.
Hamilton went with Justin Hoevel (Lincoln Trail) as its new pitcher at the start on the resumption and he did a great job keeping the Sluggers off the scoreboard. Hoevel, in his longest outing of the summer, went four-plus innings allowing just two hits and an unearned run for his first victory of the season.
The Hoevel family used to be a host family for the Joes and now have Justin as a player on the team.

The Sluggers scored its lone run after the resumption when Hoevel began the inning and ran into trouble.
Chris Franks (Ashland University) lead off the inning reaching when he was hit by a pitch. Franks scored when Tanner Powell singled to center field and the ball got past the Joes outfielder resulting in an error and Franks to score the unearned run.
Sam Pece was called on the relief Hoevel and he promptly induced Ryan Ruch into grounding into a double play. Pece struck out pinch hitter Jaxson Brown cashing in the a save and the Joes victory.
Denby combined for three hits over the course of the tow day going 3-for-5 at the plate with two RBIs.
The Slugger had five total hits, all of which were singles with three of them being on Wednesday. Brett Reed (Lawrence University) had two of those hits both of which were the day before in Findlay.
The Joes (18-17) game ground on the idle first place Xenia Scouts.
The Sluggers (17-17) loss ground in the three-team race for the second playoff spot in the North Division standings. A total of two games separated the Michigan Monarchs (19-17), the Muskegon Clippers (18-18) and the Sluggers.
The Joes will host the Muskegon Clippers for the all three games of a three-game weekend set at Foundation Field.
The Sluggers will host the South Division leading Xenia Scouts on Friday night at Marathon Diamonds.
LIMA LOCOS vs. SOUTHERN OHIO COPPERHEADS - FINAL
BOB WREN STADIUM - The Lima Locos versus Southern Ohio game was rained out on Thursday for a second straight night. There is no makeup date announced to either the two game that the teams missed out on due to Mother Nature.

The Great Lakes Summer Collegiate, founded in 1987, is a wood-bat league that is certified by the NCAA and is partially funded by Major League Baseball. The GLSCL is a non-profit 501(c)(3) entity that is one of 12 members of the National Alliance of Collegiate Summer Baseball (NACSB). The league currently consists of 8 active franchises in Ohio and Michigan boasting several players that have earned service time in major league baseball.
