Orlando, Fl. - The Orlando Snappers fell to the Sanford River Rats in a 14-8, 7-inning slugfest.

Sanford got their offense going in the first inning with a 2-out solo shot that left the yard in a hurry and traveled over 380 feet.

The following inning brought much more River Rats offense as they put up an 8 spot to take a 9-0 lead.

In the bottom of the inning, the Snappers responded with two runs on two home runs.

Hayden Gustavson (LA Tech) got the first out of the inning while Hudson Walburn (University of West Alabama) hit a wall-scraper to the left side making it a 9-2 ballgame.

The Snappers were leading the homerun battle 2-1, but in the fourth inning, Braden Calise (UCF) and the River Rats had something to say about it as the shortstop blasted a 3-RBI shot putting his team up 12-2.

Both of these offenses continued to shine as Orlando added 4 more runs to their column in the fifth, cutting the lead in half 12-6.

Despite them scoring two more in the final inning of this 7-inning clash, Sanford held strong to complete the 14-8 victory on the road.

Gustavson had a great day at the plate for the hosts, going 3-4 with a home run and an RBI.

The Snappers will look to bounce back on Wednesday, July 16, as they host the Winter Park Diamond Dawgs at 7:00pm from The First Academy in Orlando, Fl.
