Brunetti/Garber Take HCBL Weekly Awards in Week 3

Date:  Source: Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League

In the HCBL weekly awards, two players stood out from the rest as the 2025 HCBL season hit its midway point. Mikey Brunetti (Bradley) of the Westhampton Aviators was selected as the Pepsi Player of the Week, while Everett Garber (Bucknell) was recognized as the ACE Hardware Pitcher of the Week.

Brunetti hit .438 for the Aviators in the leadoff spot during Week 3. The Florida native went 7-for-16 for the week with a pair of home runs, four RBI, and 3 stolen bases. On June 29th, in a doubleheader against North Fork, Brunetti led off both games with home runs. He would also have a sacrifice fly in Game 1 of the doubleheader, which Westhampton won by a score of 7-4.

Garber was part of the second no-hitter thrown by the Sag Harbor Whalers in the 2025 season. Garber pitched the first five innings of the game on June 27th against Westhampton, where he struck out 12 batters while only allowing one walk before turning it over to the bullpen as Declan Semler (Stetson) and Ethan Righter (Hamilton) joined Garber as part of the fifth no-hitter in Whalers franchise history.
