Winter Park, Fl. - The Orlando Snappers suffered a 4-1, low scoring defeat, to the Winter Park Diamond Dawgs.

Orlando’s offense looked good in the first inning as they took a 1-0 lead early on.

Blake Fields (Miami Dade) came around to score from second on an RBI single from Matt Farner (Undecided) with no outs in the inning.

Unfortunately for the visitors, that would be the only run they would get.

After Orlando made their first pitching change of the night, the Diamond Dawgs scored 2 runs in the 4th inning taking advantage of walks and hit by pitches by the Snappers pitchers.

The hosts extended their 2-1 lead in the seventh inning, recording their second 2-spot of the night to claim a 4-1 advantage after the seventh inning stretch.

Snappers' offense was kept quite the rest of the way as Winter Park cruised to their second victory over Orlando this season.

Joey Witting (LA Tech) threw 3 innings of 2 hit baseball for Orlando as their starter, allowing 1 free pass while striking out 6.

These 2 teams will face each other in game 2 of this 3-game set on Tuesday, July 31, with first pitch set for 6:00pm from Alfond Stadium.
