WENATCHEE, Wash. – The Wenatchee Wild and Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy, proud members of the Western Hockey League (WHL) and Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL), are pleased to announce the hiring of Travis Moore as the Academy’s new goaltender coach, and co-coach of its 16-and-Under team.

"I am excited to join the Wild family as its goalie coach and Tier I & CSSHL 16U AAA assistant coach,” said Moore. “Being able to have a greater purpose with a highly competitive program, and to learn and train with some of the best coaches in the state, I look forward to a future with no ceiling."

Moore played AAA youth hockey and varsity hockey in St. Louis, Missouri before moving into coaching – most recently, he has served as USA Hockey’s Goalie Development Coordinator for the Pacific Northwest Amateur Hockey Association in Washington state, and he served this past season as a coach with the Seattle Jr. Kraken. He brings to the Wild Hockey Academy a dedication to staying updated on the latest coaching trends, as well as an ability to impart technical advice and mental resilience to young goaltenders, under the motto of “Mind, Body, Goal.”

“We are excited to add Travis to our coaching staff with the 16U team,” said Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy director Troy Mick. “Travis will work alongside Pat Norlin, and they will be a great tandem on and off the ice. Travis is very well-connected within USA Hockey & PNAHA for his goalie work and will be a valuable asset to not only the goalies, but all of the players. He knows the players very well in the state of Washington, so he will help us in identifying top prospects for all of our teams moving forward.”

As part of Moore’s new post, he will assist in the goaltender development efforts for the entire Wild Hockey Academy, but will serve in a larger role with a 16U program that recently finished its first season of full membership in the CSSHL, widely considered Canada’s top education-based hockey league. Wenatchee is the only program in the state of Washington with four Tier I programs eligible for USA Hockey postseason district and national tournaments, after receiving USA Hockey certification for its 15-Only program last month.

The Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy is excited to welcome Travis Moore as the newest member of the Wild family, and look forward to his contributions as its goaltender coach and 16U co-coach.
