Runs in Fifth Put Sliders Ahead

The Cape Catfish faced off against the Springfield Sliders on Friday, July 23 at Capaha Park. 

 

In the bottom of the first inning, Diego Johnson hit a triple that put Dalton McNamara over home plate and then scored a run for the first two runs of the game. Neither team scored until the fifth inning when the Sliders put six runs across.  The Sliders scored three runs in the top of the eighth inning from Dillon Baker, Nick Terrell and Tate Wargo. 

 

A single from Kolten Poorman in the bottom of the eighth put Dale Wright Jr across home plate. In the bottom of the ninth, a walk with bases loaded from Jackson Jarvis put Curtis Washington Jr across home plate. Then a walk from Mason Speirs gave McNamara a run. The final score of the game was 9-5.

 

The Catfish will host the Sliders at Capaha Park again on Sunday, July 25.
