The Cape Catfish faced off against the O’Fallon Hoots on Tuesday, July 20 at Capaha Park. 

 

The Catfish started the game with 5 runs in the bottom of the first inning from Curtis Washington Jr, Andrew Stone, Diego Johnson, Ellison Hanna, and a home run from Mason Speirs. 

 

The Hoots and ‘Fish each scored one run in the second inning, and the Hoots scored another run in the top of the third inning. 

 

The Catfish scored four runs from Kolten Poorman, Dalton McNamara, Washington Jr, and Stone. The Hoots put two runs across in the top of the fifth from JT Mabry and Brett Johnson. 

 

Speirs, Poorman and McNamara all crossed home plate in the bottom of the fifth inning, and Jackson Jarvis put the last run on the board for the ‘Fish in the bottom of the sixth. 

 

With a final score of 14-4 in the seventh inning, the Catfish won the game with a mercy rule over the Hoots. The Catfish will play the Springfield Sliders at Capaha Park on Friday, July 23.
