The Catfish built suspense in a home game against the Burlington Bees on Sunday, June 27.
The Bees but runs on the board in the third, fifth, sixth, and eighth innings. The Catfish did not score until the bottom of the sixth when eight runs were put across.
The first run came from Andrew Stone when a single from Ellison Hanna moved Diego Johnson to third. Next, Diego Johnson scored when a single from Kolten Poorman advanced Hanna to third. A single from Seth Johnson put Cameron Rountree across home plate and a single from Grayson Taylor gave Seth Johnson a run. Finally, a double from Diego Johnson gave Jackson Campbell, Taylor, and Stone the opportunity to earn runs for the ‘Fish.
Johnson’s double put the Catfish ahead of the Bees, who lost 8-7 to the Catfish. The Catfish will face off against the O’Fallon Hoots at Capaha Park on Wednesday, June 30.
