The Big Sticks were on the road Monday as they traveled to Spearfish, SD to take on the Sasquatch.

Starting on the mound for the Big Sticks was Pat Miner, making his seventh appearance of the season. Facing the Sticks hitters would be Nicky Winterstein in his third outing of the season.

The Sasquatch were able to jump on the board first in the bottom of the second inning after Charles McAdoo tripled and was drove in by Hayden Driggs followed by a Chandler Ibach single to score Driggs.

Spearfish was able to get three more in the bottom of the fifth on a one RBI double by Ben Parker and a two RBI double by Hayden Driggs.

Now down 5-0 in the top of the sixth, the Big Sticks got on the scoreboard in a big way as they got two-runs home runs by Ryan Stafford and Matt Olive to pull to within one run.

Unfortunately, this would be the only inning in which the Big Sticks could strike as the Sasquatch tacked on two more runs in the bottom of the seventh to go onto prevail 7-4.

Starter Pat Miner is tacked with the loss, his first, as he went 4.2 innings and allowed 5 runs (2 earned) and struck out 8. Relievers, Kenny Stewart, and Dan Rivera, each gave up one run in their respective appearances.

Sasquatch reliever, Hayden Sylte earned the win as he took over for Winterstein with two outs in the fourth. He got his second win of the year but was responsible for allowing all the Big Sticks runs on the evening. Reilly Kirkpatrick worked the final two innings and picked up a save in the process as he was able to halt the Big Sticks rally in the top of the ninth.

The Big Sticks scored their 4 runs on 8 hits and committed 3 errors, and the Sasquatch got 7 runs on 10 hits with no errors. The loss ends the Sticks nine-game winning streak as they fall to 16-12 and Spearfish is able to improve to 19-9 in the first half.

The Sasquatch head to Sioux Falls on Tuesday for a two-game series with the Sunfish (14-15).

The Big Sticks continue their road trip South as they go to Casper for a three-game series with the Horseheads (7-21). First pitch on Tuesday, June 29 from Lansing Field is set for 6:35 PM MDT.
