Errors Cost Catfish in Loss to Hoots

The Cape Catfish faced off against the O’Fallon Hoots at Capaha Park on Tuesday, June 22.

 

The Catfish started off the game with three runs in the bottom of the first inning. Andrew Stone hit a single, followed by another single from Diego Johnson. Ellison Hanna came to the plate and hit a home run which gave the ‘Fish a 2 run lead over the Hoots. The Catfish did not put runs on the scoreboard for the rest of the game 

 

The Hoots scored one run in the top of the first inning due to a home run from Josh Gibson. The Hoots would go on to score one run in the second, two runs in the third, three in the seventh, and two in the eighth. 

Two of the three runs in the top of the seventh were home runs from the Hoots’ Josh Gibson and Matt Dunham. 

 

The final score of the game was 9-3 in favor of the Hoots. The Catfish will host the Burlington Bees at Capaha Park on Saturday, June 26.
