The Cape Catfish hosted the Normal CornBelters for the final match of a three-game lineup at Capaha Park on Thursday, June 10. 

 

The game was strong offensively, with the ‘Fish scoring runs in the first four innings. DJ Wright put the first run on the scoreboard for the Catfish in the bottom of the first inning. Mason Speirs hit a double in the bottom of the second, which set the tone for the rest of the game. 

 

Kolten Poorman hit three doubles, two of which he scored after. 

 

The Catfish scored one run in the first, third, and seventh innings, three runs in the second, and five runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth, Grayson Taylor was brought in by a walk from number 24 Ellison Hanna. Poorman hit a three-run double that took Christopher Jordan, Noah Jacobsen, and Hanna over home plate. Later in the inning, Poorman scored on a wild pitch. 

 

The CornBelters Avery Asiedu hit a home run in the top of the fourth inning, putting the first score on the board for the ‘Belters. The CornBelter’s scored another run in the fifth, and two in the sixth. The Catfish came out on top with a final score of 11-4
