Catfish Fall to CornBelters in Extra Innings in the First of a Three-Game Lineup

The Cape Catfish hosted the Normal CornBelters at Capaha Park for an extra inning on Tuesday, June 8. 

 

The game was tight, with a tie of 11-11 in the ninth inning. The Catfish made their first scores in the third inning, after a two-run single hit from Andrew Stone. A wild pitch from the Belter’s Keegan Gagliardo gave Stone a run that same inning. 

 

Also in the third, the Belter’s #39 Avery Owusu Asiedu scored a three-run home run. The CornBelter’s scored five runs in the third inning, two runs in the fourth, sixth, and tenth, and one run in the second and eighth innings. 

 

The Catfish earned three runs in the third, six in the sixth, and two in the seventh inning. The final score of the matchup was 13-11 after the Belter’s two runs in the top of the tenth.
