The Cape Catfish faced off at Capaha Field on Saturday, May 29 for a warmer, exciting game against the Springfield Sliders.
The Catfish started off strong in the bottom of the first inning with three runs from Payton Howard, Christopher Jordan, and Nolan Self. Howard earned the first run of the game after steals on second from himself and Jordan.
The Catfishkept their lead in the second inning after a double from Paris Johnson sent Zack Beekman over home plate. This would be the last score on the board for the Catfish, leading to a 5 point loss.
The Sliders earned four runs in the top of the third, one in the tops of the fourth, fifth, and seventh, and two runs in the top of the ninth for a final score of 9-4.
