The Souris Valley Sabre Dogs have brought in 11 interns for the 2021 season to help in various roles of the teams operation this summer! Each one has a passion to work in the sports industry and will help enhance the experience at Corbett Field. They are coming in from all over the United States to gain experience working in sports. We offer a variety of positions ranging from fan experience, to ball park operations, along with media production. Let's meet the team!
You will hear a familiar voice on the live broadcasts this summer as the Sabre Dogs have brought back the 2020 Expedition League Broadcaster of the Year, Max Tanzer! Max is a sophomore at Ithaca College, pursuing a degree in Sports Media. His passion and knowledge of the game makes for an entertaining broadcast every game. Max will team up with our broadcast producer, Ballard Ackaway to give fans at home a great experience watching the game. Ballard is a fourth year journalism major at the University of Georgia. The two will work together on multiple assignments that will enhance the livestream for those who aren't able to make it out to the ballpark. The media team will also feature, Madison Cozzens, a junior majoring in Visual Communication at Bowling Green University. Madison will manage the Sabre Dogs social media accounts throughout the season along with photographing the game action and designing graphics to use on out platforms.
The fan engagement team is made up of 3 high energy individuals who will bring life to the marketing and promotions side for the game. Hannah Drysdale, a Journalism and Communications major at Colorado State university comes in with experience working in summer collegiate baseball, after spending time with the Fort Collins Foxes. Maggie Piazza is a Sport Management major at West Virginia University who brings a creative energy and passion for the sports business. The two of them will team up to create a fun environment for fans of all ages to come out and enjoy a Sabre Dogs baseball game.
Our sales representative team will be tasked with putting butts in seats. Nick Hansen is a junior at the University of Iowa who is majoring in Marketing Management. Nick has experience in ticket sales from the time he spent working in the ticket office for multiple Hawkeye sporting events. Ashley Wrabel is a Business Administration major at Stevenson University, where she also plays for the mustangs softball team. Nick and Ashley will team up to find ways to get fans to want to come out to the ballpark.
The ballpark operations team will assist in managing the inventory of product and leading our gameday staff at Corbett Field on gamedays. Trent Kalinowski is a marketing major at Texas Lutheran University who has experience working in the service industry. Rebecca Carney is a Organizational Management student at Kansas State University who has spent time working as a fan experience and sales intern for K-State Athletics.
Our baseball analytics intern will be a source for Sabre Dogs coaches and players to provide them with sabermetric statistics and spray charts that will help maximize the teams success on the field. Jeremy Bishop is a junior majoring in Sport Management at Bowling Green State University and is currently a equipment manager for the Falcons baseball and hockey teams. He will be in charge of operating the leagues flight scope technology and creating scouting reports on the opponents throughout the season.
The team of interns that has been assembled by AGM, Brett Schweitzer, will all contribute to the teams success this summer and we cannot wait to have them join us in Minot the summer!
