In a letter to all Varsity Hockey Coaches and Athletic Directors from Chad Clements, MIHL Showcase Chair, announced an update regarding the 2021 MIHL Prep Hockey Showcase -

"The MIHL wanted to communicate as soon as possible about the 2021 MIHL Prep Hockey Showcase. Unfortunately we are going to have to cancel the event this year due to the current restrictions with COVID-19.  We feel with the travel restrictions, the amount of teams that cannot have overnight trips, the financial risk for Kennedy Ice Arena if we had to cancel on short notice, the risk to the volunteers & most importantly the risk to the players is just too much.  We feel the uncertainty on all of these issues makes it unwise to host a 42 team showcase in the current climate.  We feel this is the best decision for everyone. We hope everyone understands and we ask that you will apply for the 2021-22 MIHL Showcase. We want everyone to know that this wasn't an easy decision and we tried everything possible for this to take place. "
