Matadors Set Tryout Dates

SIMI VALLEY, Calif. - CSUN scored three shorthanded goals and earned its second shutout of the season Friday in a 12-0 victory over Utah Valley.
Vincent Sepe earned his 40th career victory and his fourth shutout by making 24 saves. Sepe is now 40-10-1-2 overall.
Offensively three Matadors each scored two goals. John Michael Laurin scored the first and fifth goals of the game, Zach Carnes scored the seventh and ninth goals and Matt Bushton scored the eighth and eleventh goals.
The three shorthanded goals came from Christian Parks which made it 4-0. It was Parks first career shorthanded goal. In the third period Matt Hoover and Carnes scored shorties on the same penalty kill increasing the lead to 7-0. Hoover and Carnes both recorded their third career shorthanded goals and second of this season. The Matadors had three total shorthanded goals on the season going into the game.
CSUN dominated every aspect of the game as they went 2-for-7 on the power play as well. The final two goals were scored on the man advantage by Bushton and Nik Giers. Giers came on a 5-on-3 advantage.
Grayson Szumilas made it 2-0, Geno Norraik during 4-on-4 play scored the third goal of the game and Tom Dobrokhot gave the Matadors double digits.
CSUN is still undefeated in regulation this season at 17-0-1-2 and are on a 10 game winning streak now.
The Matadors go for the sweep against the Wolverines Saturday at 1:45 p.m.
