Matadors Set Tryout Dates

MOUNTLAKE TERRACE, Wash. - For the fourth time this season Saturday CSUN came from behind in the third period to beat Washington 6-4.
The Matadors completed a three game sweep of the Huskies and Western Washington, remaining undefeated in regulation at 11-0-1-2, stayed perfect on the road with a 6-0 record and are now 4-0-0-1 when trailing after two periods.
Down 4-3 John Michael Laurin tied the game at 15:32 of the third period. Christian Parks gave CSUN its only lead at 9:12. Finally Geno Norraik put the game out of reach with a goal at 5:59. The Matadors scored four unanswered goals to close out the game.
Vincent Sepe once again earned the victory to improve to 7-0-1-1 on the season.
Washington scored first at 15:36 when Eric Prigodich beat Sepe. Parks scored his first goal of the game at 8:07. It was Parks' first career power play goal. But with only 13 seconds left the Huskies forced a turnover right in front of the Matadors net and Connor Nehls slid it into the wide open net.
Washington went up 3-1 3:30 into the second period. Aaron Morris got the goal. Eli Berengut struck back at 14:08. Berengut skated into the slot from the right wing and slid the puck past the right side of Bennett Jarvis. Ethan Cain put the Huskies back up a pair at 9:11. But just like the first period a goal came at 13 seconds. This time though Quentin Abaya fired home a pass from Grayson Szumilas.
Parks scored two goals in each of the last two games of the trip.
CSUN went 1-for-3 on the power play while Washington finished 0-for-3. The Matadors were very strong on the penalty kill the entire trip killing eight of ten penalties overall.
The Matadors take on USC this Friday in another match-up against a Pac-8 team.
