Twenty-four games were played in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League (GOJHL) last week (Oct. 15-21). The week’s highest-scoring game was played Oct. 17 as the Western Conference-leading London Nationals defeated the Sarnia Legionnaires 10-4, in a game that saw some players produce big offensive numbers. Leading the three respective conferences are the Caledonia Corvairs (Golden Horseshoe Conference), Kitchener Dutchmen (Midwestern Conference) and the London Nationals (Western Conference)

Here are some of the highlights from last week.

GOLDEN HORSESHOE CONFERENCE

The Caledonia Corvairs held onto the top spot in the Golden Horseshoe Conference for a fifth consecutive week. The Corvairs lost their second game of the regular season, but this time it came in double-overtime to the Niagara Falls Canucks. The Hamilton won two of three last week to hold onto third in the Golden Horseshoe Conference. The Canucks, however, are just a point back of the Kilty B’s after picking up two overtime wins over Caledonia and the Pelham Panthers. The Canucks increased their season point to 21. The Thorold Blackhawks won both of their outings and are holding onto a one-point lead in fourth place. St. Catharines, Buffalo, Pelham and Fort Erie make up the rest of the standings through the first 15-16 games.

Listowel lost each of their three games last week, but remain the Midwest’s third place  team. Fourth-place Cambridge lost their only game and sit in fifth in the conference, one point back of the Cyclones. Stratford, Brampton and Brantford continue to make up the Midwest’s 5-7 seed, while the Waterloo Siskins are in last in the conference.
